This role will be a key asset in the future growth of the company. This individual will be capable to update our company financial policies and develop new financial policies to help meet or exceed corporate goals. The successful candidate will collaborate with the executive team to determine more effective ways to handle corporate funding, tax issues and growth financing. As well as accounting management, including corporate accounting. Finance controller responsibilities will also include accounts payable / treasury. The position reports directly to LATAM Controller.

The Role

Reporting to LATAM Controller, managing all finance accounting operations:

  • Coordinating and directing the preparation of the statutory and US GAAP monthly reporting
  • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
  • Liaising with Business Finance unit during preparation of monthly and quarterly supplementary reports and annual budgets
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Business Relationships:
  • Works collaboratively to build strong relationships with the Business Unit executive team to provide specialist financial support and information that they value, including the provision of insight into the business environment and the wider financial context, by identifying developments and changes that will have impact on the business. Enabling finance to be involved in the development of the strategic direction of the organisation and drive growth.
  • Operates at a strategic level building strong relationships with internal and external customers and is a key and active member of senior executive forums.
  • Manager of People (if applicable):
  • Manages teams within the function
  • Directs and reviews the performance of the team, identifies on-going development needs and ensures these are met to optimise performance
  • Prepares and collates team budgets, action plans and forecasts
  • Monitors and reviews team performance against plan, identifying trends and variances and instigating action plans where required to address on-going issues
  • Ensures all team members are given and managed to clear objectives, KPIs and activities

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Advanced / Fluent in English language
  • Proven working experience as a Financial controller
  • 10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Advanced degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Deep understanding (no limitative) of financial information systems e.g. Oracle, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Understanding of SOX and financial control framework
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and leadership qualities, proven interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels whilst working under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a changing environment.
  • Knowledgeable on relevant legislative, administrative, and regulatory requirements and standards, on Company’s products, services, strategies, aware of market and technical trends, drawing conclusions regarding future market conditions.
  • Experienced in the interpretation, design, and implementation of policies, guidelines, and procedures in accordance with legal mandates.
  • Has a broad understanding of financial management, technology, and project management techniques to enable the implementation, improvement and maintenance of financial systems.
  • Able to quantify measure and assess finance function performance indicators, and to evaluate short and long-term financing outlays; analyse projects to determine acceptance/rejection based on economic return and strategic considerations.
