About the Role
As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you’ll lead end-to-end quality strategy and execution for complex, enterprise-scale platforms building automation, hardening APIs, and integrating quality into CI/CD to accelerate reliable releases.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases from requirements and risk assessments
- Build, execute, and maintain automated tests using Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, or similar
- Implement API testing strategies; validate functionality, performance, and reliability with Postman, REST-assured, or equivalent
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, high-confidence releases
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to understand architecture, surface risks, and ensure full critical-path coverage
- Analyze results, document defects precisely, and track issues in JIRA (or similar) to resolution
- Champion QA best practices; mentor junior engineers; drive continuous improvement of testing processes
- Conduct exploratory testing; probe edge cases and failure modes across environments
- Participate in Agile ceremonies; contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives

About You
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with emphasis on test automation and API testing
- Proven ability to design and execute test plans/cases ensuring comprehensive coverage
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript for test scripting; Python/Java a plus
- Hands-on with Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, or similar frameworks
- Strong API testing methodologies using tools like Postman, REST-assured, or equivalent
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD; familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI)
- Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban) and practical application of Agile testing workflows
- Proficiency with JIRA (or similar) for defect tracking, test management, and collaboration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; critical thinker with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Curious, proactive mindset; comfortable questioning assumptions and exploring system behavior
- Strong prioritization and time management across parallel workstreams
- Nice to have: API contract testing (e.g., Pact), performance testing (e.g., JMeter, k6), basic security testing, cloud-native testing (AWS/Azure/GCP), Git/version control, test data management, community/open-source contributions
