JOB OVERVIEW
Plan A Technologies is looking for a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js in production environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of relational databases and a proven track record of delivering scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. This is an exciting job with room for significant career growth.
Please note: you must have at least 7+ years of experience with Node and TypeScript to be considered for this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.
Model and optimize relational database schemas in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL.
Build secure, scalable, and maintainable APIs and backend systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver high-quality solutions.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize performance across the stack.
Contribute to architectural decisions to ensure scalability and maintainability.
EXPERIENCE
7+ years of professional experience in software development.
Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node.js in a production setting.
Expertise in relational database design and optimization (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL).
Proven ability to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Passion for clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with team members.
Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to maintain a positive work attitude.Initiative and drive to do great things.
Nice to Have
Experience with React / Next.js.
Experience with React Native for mobile development.
Proficiency in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including App Engine or Cloud Functions.
