Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled, customer-focused Support Engineer to join our team. This role involves providing operational and troubleshooting support for our Kubernetes-based platform services, including Port.io, and Medtronic’s CI/CD DevSecOps framework called Argo. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of container orchestration, cloud-native application deployments using DevSecOps frameworks, and troubleshooting distributed systems. As a Support Engineer, you will work closely with developers, operations teams, and clients to ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of our platform services.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for Kubernetes clusters, Port.io platform services, Medtronic’s Argo DevSecOps platform, and resolving customer issues and ensuring system reliability.
Monitor the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters, Port.io, and Medtronic’s Argo environments using tools like Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana.
Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to networking, storage, security, and application deployments within Kubernetes.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve platform stability and automate routine maintenance tasks.
Help troubleshoot container images from teams experiencing challenges getting their containers to run correctly
Manage and optimize Helm charts, Argo CD, Flux CD, YAML configurations, and other deployment artifacts.
Using, configuring, and maintaining GitLab CI runners
Develop and maintain documentation for support processes, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
Ensure timely resolution of incidents and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support coverage.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing and supporting Kubernetes clusters in production cloud and on-prem environments.
Familiarity with Port.io (or similar platform services) and cloud-native technologies.
Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker.
Proficiency in writing and debugging Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools like Jenkins, ArgoCD, and GitLab CI.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or ELK stack.
Strong troubleshooting skills in networking, Linux systems, and distributed systems.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience as product support, DevOps, or a similar role.
