The Project Management Officer (PMO) is a strategic leader responsible for high-level project planning, resource management, and cross-departmental collaboration. By providing structure and oversight to the project management process, the PMO ensures that projects are planned, resourced, and executed effectively, bridging the gap between Project Managers and the rest of the company. This role manages critical PMO systems, supports resource allocation, and engages in strategic communication efforts, training initiatives, and leadership meetings to drive continuous improvements in project management practices.Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

1. High-Level Project Planning and Execution Support
Oversee project planning activities, ensuring clear timelines, deliverables, and responsibilities are in place.
Provide a structured framework for project execution, supporting Project Managers with resource allocation, alignment, and overall project tracking.
2. Resource Management
Track and allocate resources across projects proactively to optimize support and ensure project success.
Monitor workloads, adjust resources based on project demands, and communicate updates to project teams to prevent bottlenecks.
3. System Optimization and Tool Maintenance
Oversee PMO systems, including the PMO Database, Planner, PowerAutomate, Power BI, and Forms, maintaining their functionality and efficiency.
Keep planning and tracking tools updated, accessible, and aligned with current project needs to support seamless planning and execution.
4. Strategic Communication and Training Initiatives
Lead strategic campaigns, such as training sessions and planning workshops, to build company-wide project management capabilities.
Develop training materials and resources, delivering sessions that reinforce project management fundamentals and ensure team alignment on best practices.
5. Leadership Engagement and Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Attend leadership meetings, share insights and innovative ideas to drive PMO improvements and support high-level decision-making.
Collaborate with external departments (e.g., IT, Business Intelligence) to coordinate PMO requests and ensure that projects have integrated support from necessary teams.
6. Quality Checks and 1:1s with Project Managers
Conduct one-on-one sessions with Project Managers to review project health, ensure resource sufficiency, and support career development.
Perform regular quality checks to confirm that PMs are following best practices and that projects align with PMO standards.
7. Internal PMO Project Oversight
Plan and track internal PMO projects, including initiatives like the PMO app, IT assistance, and company-wide training (e.g., GSU All training).
Ensure that PMO-specific projects are executed efficiently and contribute to overall project management improvements within the organization.

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have the following:
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field - Preferred
Certifications
PMP (Project Management Professional) - Required
PRINCE2 or other certifications are valuable
Experience
3+ years in project management, PMO roles, or equivalent leadership positions
Proven experience managing multiple complex projects and resources simultaneously
Experience leading training, process improvements, or PMO-level initiatives
Advanced use and administration of:
Microsoft Suite
Microsoft Planner
Power Automate
Power BI
Microsoft Forms
PMO Databases or similar tools
