This is a fixed-term role that is expected to be needed for the duration of the 2025 calendar year. As a member of our Legal team, you’ll support all aspects of Anthology’s business operations globally, with an emphasis on privacy and the responsible use of AI. Additionally, you will support the privacy, trustworthy AI, and security programs, the management of regulatory obligations, commercial relationships, strategic initiatives, risk management, and compliance functions. The Legal team is committed to excellence and works as a trusted partner to business units across the company.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Lead the Legal team workstreams for achieving and maintaining privacy and responsible AI industry standards and certifications
- Reviewing and enhancing maturity of privacy and trustworthy AI programs governance and related programs and processes
- Enhance integration of privacy and trustworthy AI assessments in software development lifecycle and risk management processes in close coordination with security, product, and IT teams
- Closely and proactively working with product and IT teams on the review of technology initiatives including AI initiatives
- Support compliance and risk management initiatives
- Monitoring new privacy and AI regulations and leading projects to implement them
- Drafting and negotiating agreements with vendors, customers, partners, and consultants
- Researching legal issues and drafting memos as appropriate
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- 4-6 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm or in-house
- Qualified lawyer in Colombia
- Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF C1 level or above
- Excellent academic credentials
- Knowledge of global data privacy laws
- Experience drafting and negotiating contracts in English
- Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, judgment, and decision-making skills
- Experience in implementing and maintaining data privacy or similar risk management programs
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate with and influence senior leadership
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A strong attention to detail, commitment to quality work product and excellence
- Self-direction, confidence and initiative, as well as the ability to work with a global team to achieve goals and objectives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Privacy or AI certification such as IAPP CIPP / AIGP
- Knowledge of global AI laws such as the EU AI Act and the Colorado AI Act
- Experience advising global SaaS companies
- Experience with laws applicable to institutions of higher education
