ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
The Manager Tax Accounting ensures the overall accounting and tax integrity of the entities for the area of responsibility in compliance to departmental and accounting policies and procedures. The Manager ensures the resolution of all ensuing issues in a timely manner. The Manager also be responsible for some administrative coordination relating to areas beyond finance which has an impact on the finance function.
The group accounting is managed centrally from Prague and Delhi while the compliance with the local GAAP is currently outsourced to local service providers. To reinternalize our tax compliance in the LATAM region we are looking for a Manager Tax Accounting and the role holder will be primarily responsible for our compliance adherence in LATAM region.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Tax Reporting and Accounting
- Prepare and submit periodical Indirect Tax Returns e.g. IVA, WHT for all assigned branches.
- Ensure all reporting is accurate and processes are completed by the stipulated deadlines.
- Take over tax activities currently performed by our service provider and managing the transition.
- Prepare information required for external audit and internal audit as directed.
- Ensure the information provided complies with group/ local accounting policies and procedures, internal control guidelines and Business Processes
- Organize and support the project of transfer of local tax accounts to Corporate System Oracle.
- Maintain tax accounting records in accounting system used locally.
- Prepare the reconciliations (e.g. tax, revenue, local books), identify sources of discrepancies.
- Work with central accounting team to adjust the corporate accounting in such a way that it complies with the local GAAP (local language translation, FX issues, tax issues).
- Work closely with IT to create the necessary accounts, ledgers & translation tools.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure local SITA indirect tax models, & invoicing processes are aligns with local compliances.
- Design and implement internal control to ensure the local tax accounting comply with the local GAAP and regulations for the different countries under your responsibilities (LATAM) and reconcile with corporate books.
- Review of tax accounting records and identify discrepancies perform corrections where needed.
Qualifications
WHO YOU ARE
- University Degree in Accounting, Finance and Tax
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. Certified Public Accountant, Association of Chartered Accountants, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) is desirable
- 8 to 12 years of work experience in an accounting and tax compliance
- Excellent knowledge of LATAM accounting rules and Tax compliance requirements
- Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English
- Prior experience in change management and experience in implementing financial systems is desirable
