Role overview

Ilkari is looking for a committed, proactive and resourceful Finance Assistant based in their Colombian Data Centre to help maintain and grow both the Finance department and overall business by ensuring suppliers and employees are paid on time, customers are invoiced in a timely and accurate manner, carrying out various reconciliations, assisting in month-end close, dealing with supplier, customer and colleague queries, assisting and advising stakeholders in financial matters and ensuring finance operations runs smoothly, as well as direct involvement in setting up new procedures, automation, finance system implementation and process enhancement and assisting colleagues in the Finance Team as necessary in their everyday operations.
What you'll do
- End to End Accounts Payable Ownership: Responsible for suppliers paid in a timely manner with minimal delays, accurate invoicing posting and coding and working closely with the Procurement Team in ensuring payments, costs and purchase orders are accurate and in line with budgets.
- Accounts Receivables: Ensuring customers are invoiced in a timely and accurate manner and that invoices are settled within the payment terms agreed upon.
- Employee Expenses: Processing employee expenses in a timely manner, dealing with any queries and coaching colleagues on submitting expenses correctly.
- Supplier Support: Address supplier queries and concerns regarding their invoices, payments, and account status, resolving disputes professionally.
- Reconciliation Work: Working with the rest of the finance team in reconciling various areas including bank, sales, purchase order and supplier reconciliations.
- Process Optimisation: Identify areas to improve the accounts payable process, implement best practices, and contribute to overall efficiency. Focus on key tasks that reflect the role's scope and impact.
- Finance Operations: Assist Finance Team colleagues in Accounts Receivables, Reporting and Month End transactions as necessary.
- Business Finance Support: Supporting the rest of the business in any financial matters, expertise and advice they require thereby enabling them to be able to focus in growing their customer base and maximising revenue and profit.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Opportunity to be involved in the annual planning process, quarterly forecasts and reporting across different areas of the business, as well as cashflow forecasting.
- Finance System Implementation: Direct involvement in implementing a new finance and accounting system and it’s subsequent procedures.
What are we looking for
- 2+ years of experience in finance assistant or a related finance role; experience in a Technology business is a plus.
- Fluent English and Spanish is a must. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
- An accounting qualification would be advantageous.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. SAP, D365) and CRM systems; strong MS Excel skills are required.
- Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail and being able to deal with numerous and complex data sets.
- Proactive in identifying and resolving operational and procedural issues, alongside process improvements, with a solution-oriented mindset
