At robot.com, we’re pushing the boundaries of industrial design as we develop the next generation of robotics. As we continue to scale our design language and deepen user interactions across platforms, the Global Design & Product Innovation team is looking for a proactive Industrial/Product Designer to help accelerate the development of our robots—from early concepts to field testing and high-fidelity prototyping.
This role is essential in helping us translate advanced ideas into functional, beautiful, and scalable solutions. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the future of robotics across Colombia, the U.S., and Asia.
Location: Medellín, Colombia (In person)
A typical day as an Industrial/Product Designer might include:
Conduct user research and field testing to inform design decisions and document the process.
Design physical and interactive, user-centered solutions aligned with the team's visual and functional guidelines.
Solve design challenges independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Accelerate prototyping workflows, including Color, Material & Finish (CMF) explorations and iteration cycles.
Collaborate with the HW&M, AI & Robotics, CEO, and Business teams on design refinements and validation.
Provide mechanical design support for functional and conceptual prototypes.
Offer cross-functional design support for emerging business units and deployment formats.
Contribute technical and manufacturing insights to guide design decisions.
Actively participate in validation sessions, user testing, and continuous product improvement loops.
Attend and contribute to meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Adapt to diverse environments and locations depending on project requirements.

Intermediate to advanced English proficiency

Availability and flexibility to travel
Degree in Product Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
Experience in physical product design and mechanical design, preferably with exposure to tech or electronics
Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM principles
Strong aesthetic sensibility and design intuition
Understanding of human-robot interaction principles
Skills in 2D sketching and digital painting
