A well-established and expanding logistics provider is looking for an Ocean Import Sales Specialist with background in ocean freight and U.S.–Colombia trade. This is a great opportunity for sales professionals in the freight forwarding industry who are ready to grow and take on new challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new business opportunities for ocean imports from the U.S. to Colombia
Build and manage long-term client relationships
Negotiate competitive rates with ocean carriers and NVOCCs
Coordinate with internal operations and documentation teams to ensure seamless freight movement
Monitor shipments and provide proactive updates to clients
Stay up to date on Incoterms, international trade regulations, and Colombian customs procedures
Prepare and present tailored proposals to prospective clients
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
Ideal Candidate:
3 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or brokerage (focused on ocean imports)
Proven success in sales or business development roles
Familiar with U.S.–Latin America trade lanes
Experience working with Colombian importers and understanding of customs clearance processes
Bilingual – fluent in English and Spanish (required)
Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, independent, and goal-oriented
Conditions:
Location: On-site position in Barranquilla, Colombia
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (in-office)
Contract type: Permanent full-time position.
