About the role
We are seeking a Senior NSX Network Engineer to join our infrastructure team. Thisrole is best suited for an engineer with deep expertise in VMware NSX who can lead the design, implementation, and support of our network virtualization platform. The ideal candidate will combine strong traditional networking knowledge with advanced NSX skills to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient network services.
You will be responsible for designing and architecting solutions, performing BAU operations (including micro-segmentation), and working closely with cross-functional teams. Experience with VMware Avi (NSX Advanced Load Balancer) is highly desirable.
What you will do:
- Act as the SME for VMware NSX, driving solution design and architecture decisions.
- Develop and implement network virtualization strategies that align with business and security requirements.
- Lead the design and rollout of micro-segmentation policies to enhance network security.
- Produce and maintain detailed HLDs and LLDs for NSX and integrated network solutions.
- Collaborate with network, security, and cloud teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain NSX-T environments, including logical routing, switching, DFW, and security services.
- Perform day-to-day BAU operations, including policy updates, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and maintain distributed firewall rules, NAT, and security groups.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across NSX, physical networking, and integrated systems.
- Support upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning activities.
- Work with senior architects and take direction when needed, while providing technical expertise and mentorship to peers.
- Document designs, standards, and operational runbooks.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to policies.
- Actively contribute to a team-oriented, collaborative work culture.
What you bring:
- Strong networking background (routing, switching, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, firewalls,
- load balancing).
- Hands-on expertise with VMware NSX (NSX-T preferred) in design, deployment, and operations.
- Proven track record with micro-segmentation projects in enterprise environments.
- Ability to design and architect complex network virtualization solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multi-vendor environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; comfortable working in cross- functional teams.
Nice if you have:
- Experience with VMware Avi (NSX Advanced Load Balancer).
- Familiarity with public cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Certifications such as VCP-NV, VCIX-NV, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of automation (PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform) for NSX operations.
