Mahnke's Orthotics & Prosthetics, a leading provider of orthotic and prosthetic care, is seeking a detail-oriented DME Medical Insurance Collections Specialist to join our team. We are looking for a dedicated professional with strong medical insurance background with billing-collections experience.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and billing processes, as well as experience in medical collections.

Responsibilities
- Review and manage accounts receivable for medical services rendered.
- Contact patients and insurance companies to follow up on outstanding balances.
- Verify patient information and update medical records as necessary.
- Utilize knowledge of ICD-10 , and medical coding to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions in the system.
- Collaborate with the medical office team to facilitate smooth billing and collections processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies regarding medical collections
Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year of medical insurance collections experience
- Experience in DME or orthotics/prosthetics collections preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HCPC codes, and ICD-10
- Familiarity with clinical documentation from referral sources
- Proven experience in medical collection and appeal process
- Familiarity with medical records management and office procedures
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and billing practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service
- Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
